Every time we stroll around our friendly village, enjoy the springtime scent of wild garlic along the wooded trails of the country park or watch the resident heron stretch and warm his wings by the lakes in the early morning heat of the summertime, we know why we still live in Cockington Village.
It was the prospect of living by the sea that brought us this way. Leon was brought up in Worthing where he loved fishing with his Dad and after many years of living in central, southern England, was desperate to enjoy that salty air again. The thrill of walking along the seafront and the sense of space and freedom that you have when looking out to sea still captivates us both. The coastline, with it’s many coves, is breathtakingly pretty in South Devon.
We moved here 18 years ago when we purchased Lanscombe House B&B and spent many years improving the property and welcoming lots of lovely, regular guests. During this time we raised our two girls, Jess and Katie, so this is the only home they’ve ever known. We don’t suppose they’ll truly appreciate just how lucky they have been to grow up in this beautiful area until they’re much older.
In recent years we have utilised our hospitality experience to create 3 luxury holiday cottages ensuring that guests have everything they need to enjoy a relaxed stay and create happy memories in this beautiful part of South Devon that we love.
We are thrilled that many past B&B guests continue to holiday here and we have welcomed many new regular guests too. All being well, I think we’ll be here for many years to come…
